Bedroom Edit: Understated Elegance
Creating a comfortable, personal space where you can wind down each night, and begin each day is top on the list of priorities when I think about building my dream home. I’ve been renting apartments, and single-family homes for the past 11 years, and though it's been fun being able to re-arrange and update my bedroom over the years in each new place, I can’t wait for the day when I can really thoughtfully consider the entire space, from the ground up.
I wanted to share some inspiration and products I’ve had my eye on recently. Big themes that are popping up as I’m curating are mixing warm woods with textured, unique textiles, and pairing vintage items with more modern touches. My personal style has evolved so much over the years and I find I’m now drawn to spaces that feel personal, warm and timeless with a focus on understated elegance.
To me, this term understated elegance means focusing on the things that feel luxurious in a way that suits regular day-to-day life. I think of a beautiful wool throw, that you use every day, that brings an extra glimmer of joy whenever you wrap it around yourself. It’s the items that may be more of an investment, but are high quality and will last for years to come.
